This is an exciting time for the service, as we prepare to move into a new purpose-built Wellbeing Centre alongside our campus GP practice.
We are particularly interested in appointing a mental health practitioner with proven experience in managing teams within acute mental health or therapeutic settings, alongside strong administrative and organizational skills.
Our services support over 1,800 students each year, delivering a wide range of interventions including psychodynamic therapy, CBT, psychoeducational workshops, proactive outreach, and living support.
As one of the service leads, you will work closely with Senior Wellbeing Managers, Senior Mental Health Nurses, Residential Life Managers, and the Lead Chaplain, under the direction of the Head of Service.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Overseeing caseload allocation and management.
Supporting staff with case resolution and escalation of critical incidents.
Collaborating with internal teams such as Advice & Guidance and Disability Support, as well as external NHS services.
Contributing to proactive mental health and wellbeing initiatives as part of the University’s wider strategy.
Reviewing and improving team systems, processes, and procedures to ensure efficiency and effective risk management.
About You
We are looking for a qualified, accredited, and experienced therapist, social worker, mental health nurse, or other mental health professional.
Essential skills and experience:
Experience managing and supervising therapists, practitioners, trainees, and locums.
Ability to hold a small clinical caseload, if required for accreditation.
Strong administrative and digital skills to manage and improve case management and service processes.
An innovative, risk-aware approach, with sound judgement, diplomacy, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship-building, confidentiality, and sensitivity in complex situations.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
A flexible, collaborative, and professional approach.
