Job Description
About UCL Electronic and Electrical Engineering
The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE) at University College London has a proud legacy dating back to 1885, when it was founded by Sir Ambrose Fleming, the inventor of the thermionic valve and a pioneer in the field of electronics. That legacy continues today through cutting-edge research, high-quality education, and close collaboration with industry.
We are a forward-thinking, inclusive department committed to supporting both student success and staff development. Our technical teams play a key role in supporting teaching, research, and infrastructure that underpin our world-class academic environment.
About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Administration Officer to provide both practical and administrative support to the senior technical team. This is a diverse role that involves working closely with technical staff, academic staff, students, visitors, and external contractors, supporting the department’s operations — particularly in areas such as infrastructure management and health & safety.
You will gain hands-on experience in how a large university technical team functions and be part of a collaborative environment that directly supports teaching and research activity.
Key aspects of the role include:
Administrative support for technical operations, infrastructure, and safety initiatives
Assisting with planning, documentation, and implementation of small-scale projects
Supporting communication between technical teams, academic staff, and external contractors
Maintaining equipment and lab/workshop environments
Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
Start Date: 5 January 2026
Please note: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

We are looking for someone who is:
Organised and able to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Proactive, adaptable, and ready to learn
Skilled in written and verbal communication
Desirable experience includes:
