About the Role
Oxford Brookes University is seeking a motivated and reliable Sustainable Transport & Customer Service Officer to join its award-winning Sustainability Team. This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term role for 12 months.
The potholder will provide high-level executive and customer service support across a range of sustainable transport services. You will play a key role in:
Managing vehicle parking and bus operations.
Handling enquiries from students, staff, and external stakeholders.
Supporting the delivery of the University’s sustainable travel strategies.
This is a fast-paced and varied role, ideal for someone with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills who is passionate about sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee parking and bus operations.
Respond to enquiries efficiently and professionally.
Support the planning and implementation of sustainable transport initiatives.
Liaise with internal departments and external partners to deliver transport services.
Contribute to the University’s sustainability and customer service goals.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) OR Level 3 qualification in leadership/management or relevant professional qualification.
Experience in a customer-facing role.
Experience in administration and handling financial transactions.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Commitment to sustainable transport and environmentally responsible practices.
Desirable:
Experience working in a higher education or large organisation setting.
Knowledge of sustainable travel strategies.

Working Hours
Part-time: 30 hours per week (0.8 FTE).
Flexibility required during peak times (e.g., semester starts, Open Days, Applicant Days).
Core working hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (part-time patterns can be discussed).
Hybrid working is possible for tasks not requiring on-campus presence.
