About the Role
The University of Sussex invites applications for a Research Fellow in Digitalisation and Green Healthcare to contribute to an MRC-funded transdisciplinary research hub focused on decarbonising healthcare commissioning and delivery.
You will work on Sub-Theme 4: Digital and Remote Care Pathways, led by Professor Dimitra Petrakaki within the University of Sussex Business School, and collaborate closely with colleagues from the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), under the overall leadership of Professor Mahmood Bhutta.
The position will focus on identifying and evaluating sustainable innovations in digital healthcare pathways, exploring how digitalisation can enable low-carbon, efficient, and equitable healthcare systems. You will contribute to collaborative research, data analysis, publication writing, and dissemination of findings to academic, clinical, and policy audiences.
About You
You will hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in a field relevant to digital health, healthcare systems, sustainability, or innovation studies, or possess equivalent research experience.
You should have:
- Proven experience in digital or remote healthcare research, sustainability in healthcare, or related areas.
- Strong skills in independent project management, literature synthesis, and stakeholder engagement.
- The ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.
- A track record or demonstrable interest in influencing policy, advocacy, or implementation of research for real-world impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an analytical, proactive approach are essential.
