About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Governance Officer to join our Research and Development team at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.
This pivotal role will support the Research Governance Manager in strengthening and expanding the Trust’s quality assurance processes around the approval, audit, and delivery of research projects, as well as enhancing safety reporting across all research activities.

This position is critical to implementing the Trust’s Research Strategy, ensuring robust governance, compliance, and continuous improvement as we grow our research capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Support the coordination and approval of research activities across the Trust.

Liaise effectively with research management, academic and NHS partners, and staff, service users, and carers involved in research.

Promote the safe, efficient, and timely setup and delivery of high-quality research within the Trust.

Ensure all research activities comply with the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research and other relevant regulations.

Assist in the governance oversight of NIHR portfolio and non-portfolio studies, including coordination, auditing, and performance monitoring.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting on Trust research performance against local, regional, and national targets.

Support the delivery of internal audits and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Assist in safety reporting and ensure robust governance documentation is maintained.

About You

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable professional with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
You will be confident working across clinical and non-clinical teams, as well as collaborating with academic institutions and partner NHS Trusts.

Essential qualities include:

  • An understanding of research governance or clinical audit processes
  • Commitment to promoting quality, safety, and compliance in research
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
