Role Overview

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a reliable, professional, and patient-focused Clerk Typist to support the Genecology service at Whitehaven Hospital.

This role plays a vital part in the smooth day-to-day operation of clinical services. You will provide high-quality typing and administrative support to Consultants and Nurse Practitioners, while acting as a welcoming and helpful first point of contact for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely typing of clinical correspondence, reports, and letters
  • Support Consultants and Nurse Practitioners with day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Act as a first point of contact for patients, maintaining a professional and compassionate approach
  • Liaise effectively with wards, departments, other NHS organizations, and external agencies

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE in English Language (or equivalent)
  • RSA Level 2 in Word Processing or equivalent qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Regular use of computers in a work or training environment

Desirable

  • Audio typing experience
  • Previous clerical or office-based work

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of confidentiality and information governance
  • Awareness of equality and diversity principles
