Software Development Test Engineer
Location: UK (Remote/Flexible options available)

Salary: £37,500 – £42,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week

About the Role

JaiTech Ltd is seeking a talented and experienced Software Development Test Engineer (SDET) to join our fast-growing team. This is a pivotal role where you’ll collaborate across teams and departments, playing a key part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. You’ll bring technical leadership to complex projects, with a strong emphasis on performance and security testing.

As a Software Development Test Engineer, you’ll help shape the development lifecycle by designing, executing, and automating tests, and ensuring robust quality assurance procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks using Node.js and tools such as Cypress, Webdriver.io, Puppeteer, or Playwright.
  • (Desirable) Experience with Java-based frameworks like Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit for web UI testing.
  • Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or TravisCI; manage artifacts with Artifactory, Git, and GitHub/Stash.
  • Conduct functional, performance, and security testing, using tools like JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Contribute to and advocate for Test-Driven Development (TDD) and efficient build/deploy automation.
  • Work in Agile/Scrum environments to deliver iterative, high-quality releases.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as an SDET or test automation engineer.
  • Strong experience with automated testing, performance evaluation, and security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical design skills.
  • Passion for learning, adaptability, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced team.
  • (Bonus) Certifications in test automation, DevOps, cloud technologies, or security testing.
