About Our Division
The Sussex Projects team has undergone a transformative journey since its inception in 2022. Initially part of IT Services, it is now a standalone division bringing together a community of project and change management professionals to centralise and improve the University’s project portfolio management. The team has established a strategic planning process for capital expenditure and developed new methodologies, systems, processes, and reporting structures.
An external 2024 maturity assessment revealed that Sussex Projects is now outperforming industry benchmarks in project management.
The Change Practice team was established in December 2022 and has developed a bespoke change management framework tailored to the specific needs of Sussex University and its projects. The team’s focus is on fostering continuous improvement and innovation through a collaborative and active community of practice.
