Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified Specialist District Nurse to join the Mother well Community Nursing Team within NHS Lanark shire. You will lead in the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality, person-centered care to patients in the local community.
You will demonstrate strong clinical leadership, change management abilities, and a commitment to continuous professional development. The role requires excellent communication, decision-making, and team leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and clinical expertise in the delivery of community nursing care
Manage and support a team of community nursing staff
Promote evidence-based practice and service improvement
Ensure care is delivered safely, efficiently, and compassionately
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet patient needs
Act as a role model for professional nursing standards
Contribute to service development and innovation in line with NHS Lanark shire goals
Essential Criteria:
Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
Specialist Practitioner Qualification in District Nursing (SPQ) or equivalent
Educated to/working towards degree level
Significant post-registration experience in primary or community care
Advanced knowledge of relevant clinical guidelines and conditions
Non-medical prescribing qualification (or working towards)
Strong leadership and teamworking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Car owner/driver with a full valid UK/EU/EEA driving license
Proficient in IT and time management
Desirable Criteria:
Formal leadership development training
Evidence of advanced post-registration clinical practice
Experience in managing and leading change in community nursing
Knowledge of national policy relating to community healthcare
