Holt Executive is partnering with a leading global innovator in Space Sustainability, a fast-growing technology company dedicated to addressing the critical issue of orbital space debris.
They are seeking a Space Systems Engineering Manager to lead a talented and passionate team in all aspects of space systems engineering. This role comes with overall responsibility for managing the spacecraft systems team, ensuring collaboration to deliver effective solutions on time and within budget across multiple projects.

Responsibilities of the Space Systems Engineering Manager:
- Lead and mentor the systems engineering team, providing technical guidance.
- Manage Systems Team Leads and oversee team development.
- Handle recruitment for permanent and temporary roles, including outsourcing needs.
- Oversee scoping, costing, and planning for new project work packages.
- Communicate work package plans, technical requirements, and schedule risks to the team and Project Managers.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures within the Systems Group.
- Define and implement relevant engineering processes and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of the technology roadmap for Systems.
Essential Skills for the Space Systems Engineering Manager:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
- Deep understanding of systems engineering and space industry standards.
- Ability to adapt engineering practices to a lean, fast-paced development environment.
- Technical expertise in space and ground segment subsystems, with a focus on orbital mechanics and AOCS/GNC.
- 10+ years of systems engineering experience in the commercial space industry.
- 5+ years in a line management role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a commitment to building effective teams and prioritizing the team’s and project’s success.
