Role Summary

As a Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering software features and modules that drive innovation in aviation technology. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively across teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

You will take ownership of software components — from design to implementation — and contribute to architecture discussions, development planning, and technical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Define the scope of work, estimate effort, and provide data-driven justifications for estimates.

Apply and promote Agile software development practices, understanding inputs, outputs, and key milestones for each cycle.

Engage in technical design discussions, present solutions through whiteboarding, and contribute to architecture decisions.

Deliver high-quality code aligned with best practices, unit testing, and code quality automation.

Collaborate across teams to ensure on-time, high-performance software delivery.

Lead and participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to standards and design consistency.

Influence technology choices through research, assessment, and data-driven analysis.

Design and develop software modules, ensuring efficient integration and data exchange between systems.

Prioritize scalability, performance, and reliability in design and implementation.

Mentor and guide a small team (5–7 developers) through Agile processes such as SCRUM.

Work closely with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to align development with business goals and product vision.

Continuously improve software performance using data, testing, and iterative design.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.

Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery within an Agile environment.

Technical Expertise

Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Software Design Patterns, and Java programming principles.

Hands-on experience with:

Web services (REST, SOAP, WSDL)

Apache Commons Suite & Maven

SQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL

Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Integration, Data)

Familiarity with Big Data, Hadoop, or NoSQL databases (preferred).

Front-end development experience using HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS.

Exposure to Java OSGi modules and OSGi containers.

Experience with Play Framework or Angular (advantageous).
