About the Role

We are seeking a Software Certification Engineer to lead software certification activities, ensuring robust planning and regulatory compliance across assigned projects and products within Aviation Systems. Our Systems business spans a wide range of aviation technologies, including power generation and distribution, navigation, cockpit displays, computing and networking, ignition systems, sensors, and propellers.

In this role, you will work closely with integrated project teams, external suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with industry standards, while contributing to the successful certification of advanced aviation software.

Key Responsibilities

Define and support product certification strategies and establish certification bases.

Contribute to compliance planning and define means of compliance.

Support the creation of integrated project certification plans.

Review development artefacts to assess compliance where applicable.

Conduct certification audit pre-assessments for both internal projects and external suppliers.

Audit product artefacts and verification activities against certification requirements.

Support customer and regulatory authority audits, addressing findings and observations.

Collaborate with project teams to resolve compliance issues.

Represent GE Aerospace in industry working groups related to certification and compliance.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience in software development and/or certification in a RTCA/DO-178B or DO-178C environment.

Strong understanding of certification regulations and experience demonstrating compliance.
