About the Role

Join our Adult Social Care team in Penrith and make a genuine difference in the lives of others. Following a recent service reshape, we’re offering exciting opportunities for qualified social workers to be part of a supportive, community-focused environment in one of the most scenic parts of the country.

Based in the charming market town of Penrith, near the Lake District, you’ll work within a dedicated, compassionate team focused on delivering high-quality care and support.

We’ve introduced a career grade pathway from Grade 11 to Grade 13 for qualified social workers holding additional qualifications such as Best Interests Assessor, Practice Educator, or AMHP. Regular training and development opportunities are provided to help staff progress their careers within Westmorland and Furness Council.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Social Worker who:

Holds a Social Work degree and is registered with Social Work England

Has experience with independent assessments and support planning

Understands current legislation and best practice approaches

Is confident in managing risk, making sound decisions, and working collaboratively

Can deliver innovative, person-centred solutions that empower individuals
