Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly, professional, and organized Receptionist to join our team in Sexual Health Dorset at our Bournemouth clinic. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a patient-facing role and is passionate about delivering high-quality customer service.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff during our evening clinics, helping to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience. Full training and support will be provided as part of a helpful and inclusive administrative team.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome patients, visitors, and staff with a professional, helpful, and positive approach.

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.

Accurately enter and manage patient data using our clinical systems.

Provide general reception and administrative support to the sexual health service.

Act as a point of contact for patients, clinical staff, and external agencies.

Support the Team Lead and Lead Nurse in ensuring the smooth running of services.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Experience

GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths

Experience in a reception or customer-facing role

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Competent using computer systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable

Experience with electronic patient record systems (e.g., appointment booking)

Previous experience in sexual health or NHS services

Positive interest in sexual health services

Personal Attributes

Flexible, reliable, and proactive

Willingness to learn new skills

Able to work independently and as part of a team

This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
