About the Role
The Admissions Office is seeking a Senior Postgraduate Admissions Co-Ordinator to support the efficient and professional delivery of postgraduate taught admissions at the University of Sussex.
You will be one of three senior coordinators overseeing the taught postgraduate admissions process. Key responsibilities include:
Managing day-to-day admissions activities to ensure timely, fair, and consistent decision-making.
Checking and issuing decisions, and advising Admissions Co-Ordinator’s and Academic Reviewers.
Leading on specific admissions functions within the annual cycle.
Supporting, motivating, and guiding staff to provide applicants with an excellent experience from initial enquiry through to enrolment.
The role is based within the Admissions Office, a busy and collaborative team of 40 staff working across Undergraduate Admissions, Postgraduate Admissions, and Scholarships. The office is overseen by the Associate Director, Global Admissions.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in postgraduate admissions (essential).
Strong administrative and organizational skills, ideally gained in higher education.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
The ability to work accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Experience working with applicants from diverse international backgrounds, including those whose first language is not English.
Knowledge of UK, EU, and international qualifications, UKVI and Student Visa processes, and (ideally) fee status classification and assessment.
Strong teamwork skills, alongside the ability to work independently and take initiative.
