About the Role
The Department of Pharmacy at Kingston University is seeking a dedicated Independent Prescribing Pharmacist with expertise in applied pharmacy practice to join our academic team. This role focuses on undergraduate and foundation-level teaching, with a strong emphasis on equipping students with real-world, practical skills.
You will collaborate with academic colleagues to design, deliver, and assess high-quality, innovative teaching materials, especially in areas such as clinical calculations, experiential learning, and independent prescribing. The role also includes supervising undergraduate research projects and taking on some administrative responsibilities within the department.
About You
You must have:
An MPharm degree (or equivalent)
Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC)
Qualification as an Independent Prescriber
Experience working in one or more sectors of UK pharmacy or medical practice
Desirable:
Previous teaching experience and/or a relevant teaching qualification
A passion for education and the ability to motivate and support a diverse student cohort
Strong teamworking skills and a commitment to collaborative practice
You will be expected to meet Kingston University’s teaching standards, and if not already UKPSF-recognized, you must complete an accredited pathway such as the Introduction to Learning and Teaching program or the Kingston Academic Practice Standards framework during your probationary period.
