Nacro is a national social justice charity with over 50 years of experience supporting people to rebuild their lives and strengthen communities. Our mission is to reduce crime and reoffending by providing practical, structured support to people in the criminal justice system.

Our Community Accommodation Support (CAS) service helps adult defendants on bail, individuals on Home Detention Curfew (HDC), and those under other licence orders. By providing safe accommodation and tailored support, CAS empowers service users to reintegrate successfully into society.

Role Overview

As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead a team of Support Workers across Coventry and Worcester, ensuring high-quality service delivery and supporting both staff and service users. This is not a personal care role; instead, it focuses on leadership, operational management, and helping service users navigate the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and support your team on best practice, quality, compliance, and resource management.
  • Operational Management: Ensure daily operations run smoothly, including staff cover, scheduling, and readiness for service delivery.
  • Health & Safety: Promote safe working practices, particularly regarding lone working, and assist with training initiatives.
  • Service User Support: Occasionally manage a small caseload and participate in emergency out-of-hours support (rotating basis, 18:00–08:00).
  • Performance Accountability: Support your team to achieve targets, including void management, arrears, and outcome achievement.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records and utilise computer systems including Word, Excel, and internal databases.
  • Training & Development: Support staff in completing Training and Induction Passport documentation, ensuring team development and compliance.

This role requires:

  • Enhanced DBS check (Gov.uk DBS Information)
    Prison Clearance for working with adults in a custodial setting

Travel & Vehicle Use

  • Essential Travel: A full driving license and access to a vehicle are required.
  • Staff must have business use insurance for work travel. Costs for this are included in the HMRC mileage allowance
