Job Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated Salaried GP to join a well-established and forward-thinking GP practice rated “Good” by the Care Quality Commission.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Provide high-quality primary care consultations (face-to-face, telephone, and online)
Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions
Prescribe safely in line with national and local clinical guidelines
Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate
Manage test results, referrals, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records
Clinical standards and responsibilities
Patient Safety & Governance
- Deliver evidence-based care in line with best practice and BMA safe working guidance
Participate in safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults
Contribute to clinical audits, governance, and quality improvement initiatives
Work within Care Quality Commission standards
Safeguarding and governance guidance
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and wider Primary Care Network (PCN) teams
Participate in clinical meetings and service development
Support training and mentoring of junior staff where appropriate
Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture
Administrative Duties
- Process prescriptions, referrals, and clinical documentation efficiently
Manage workload through a modern triage system (e.g. Anima)
Ensure timely and accurate completion of clinical tasks
Professional Development
- Maintain registration with the General Medical Council
Participate in appraisal and revalidation processes
Engage in continuous professional development (CPD)
Take part in practice development and leadership opportunities
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Qualified General Practitioner with MRCGP (or equivalent)
Full registration with the General Medical Council
Inclusion on the GP Register and NHS Performers List
Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Right to work in the UK or eligibility for visa sponsorship
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in UK General Practice
Familiarity with total triage systems (e.g. Anima)
Interest in a specialist clinical area (e.g. diabetes, mental health, women’s health)
Experience in teaching, mentoring, or leadership
Understanding of QOF and primary care performance frameworks
Interest in progression to Partnership

Additional Information
- Workload capped at approximately 25 patient contacts per day in line with safe working guidance
Contract aligned with BMA model terms and conditions
