Job Description

About the Practice

Minehead Medical Centre is entering an exciting new chapter. Under the leadership of OneMedicare, the practice has undergone a remarkable transformation since early 2024, moving from an Inadequate rating to achieving a ‘Good’ rating across all areas in its first CQC inspection.

Today, the practice stands as a trusted healthcare hub at the heart of Minehead, delivering accessible, high-quality primary care to its community. Our team is supportive, collaborative, and deeply committed to patient-centred medicine. We believe in restoring the joy of general practice by giving clinicians the time, space, and resources to do their best work.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Salaried General Practitioner who wants to be part of a values-driven organisation and contribute to the continued growth and stability of the service.

This role has been designed with clinician wellbeing in mind, offering protected time, manageable workloads, and modern facilities that support safe and effective care.

What makes this role different:

  • 15-minute appointments, with patient contacts capped at 25 per day
  • Recently refurbished premises with new ground-floor clinical rooms
  • Strong leadership, clear governance, and a genuinely supportive MDT
  • Career development opportunities within a growing national organisation

Key Responsibilities

As a Salaried GP, you will:

  • Deliver a balanced mix of face-to-face, telephone, and home visit consultations
  • Provide both planned and same-day urgent care in line with patient needs
  • Build an understanding of the local population to deliver personalised, high-quality care
  • Practice evidence-based medicine with a strong focus on patient safety and experience
  • Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to support patients with long-term and complex conditions
  • Contribute to a positive learning culture and continuous service improvement

About You

We are looking for a GP who is clinically confident, approachable, and aligned with our values.

Essential criteria:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List
  • At least 12 months’ post-CCT experience in primary or urgent care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, organised approach to clinical practice

Salary & Benefits Package

We offer a highly competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Salary up to £100,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • NHS Pension Scheme with 20.6% employer contribution
  • 30 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time)
  • Additional annual leave awarded for length of service
  • Indemnity cover for hours worked
  • 10% protected CPD time within weekly hours
  • 5 days study leave per year (pro rata)
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption pay
  • Internal wellbeing support and access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
  • Cycle to Work scheme, eye care support, NHS staff discounts
  • Fortnightly grocery support for practice teams
  • Relocation assistance, subject to eligibility

Visa Sponsorship

We are able to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for eligible candidates who already hold the right to reside in the UK at the time of application.

Please note: applications from candidates applying from outside the UK cannot be considered.
