About the Role

We are looking for a Night Shift Team Leader to support all aspects of our Warehouse and Transport Operations, ensuring the delivery of first-class customer service. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong communication skills, operational awareness, and the ability to motivate and manage a team of 20–30 colleagues.

You’ll work collaboratively across all departments to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive working environment, aligned with the customer’s service level agreements (SLAs) and Wincanton’s operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

Promote and enforce a strong Health & Safety culture across the site

Ensure all team members follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free working environment

Actively support and participate in safety initiatives and site-specific safety targets

Operations

Drive continuous improvement in operational performance, focusing on reducing waste and managing underperformance

Ensure effective execution of warehouse and transport processes, meeting all deadlines and productivity targets

People Management

Manage resource planning to meet customer demands, including:

Recruitment

Training and upskilling

Holiday and absence management

Performance and engagement initiatives

Lead, coach, and motivate team members to achieve daily and long-term performance goals

Customer Focus

Meet or exceed customer expectations by delivering against agreed KPIs and contractual obligations

Maintain excellent communication and working relationships with the customer to ensure service excellence

About You

Strong leadership and team management skills

Hands-on approach with the ability to work collaboratively and independently

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proven experience in warehouse or transport operations (ideally in a fast-paced logistics environment)

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
