About the Role
We are seeking a Research Fellow to join a 2-year NIHR-funded project exploring how homecare services support the food and drink needs of older adults in the UK, with a focus on quality of life and the socio-cultural aspects of eating, drinking, and care.
Working under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, you will:
Conduct document analysis and semi-structured interviews
Analyze qualitative data
Co-lead participatory workshops
Contribute to writing research outputs, including publications and funder reports
Support knowledge mobilization activities
This role involves regular travel to London and Brighton & Hove for participant recruitment, fieldwork, and engagement events. Other responsibilities will be primarily desk-based.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues from Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), the University of Kent, the University of Surrey, and public advisors.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have:
A PhD (or equivalent experience) in anthropology, sociology, social care, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in qualitative research and analysis
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
An understanding of research ethics, confidentiality, and participant dignity
A developing track record of peer-reviewed publications or equivalent outputs
A collaborative, flexible, and self-motivated approach
Experience working across interdisciplinary teams, and with community or local government stakeholders, will be highly beneficial.
