About Us

Within UCL, this role is based in the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (PALS), which was ranked 2nd in the UK for Psychology in the latest Times Higher Education subject rankings. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr Jessie Baldwin in a dynamic, supportive, and collaborative team.
About the Role
This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a UKRI-funded project investigating environmental factors that disrupt the intergenerational transmission of mental health problems. The role involves applying causal inference methods to longitudinal cohort data, national registries, and health records.
Starting salary: Grade 7, SP 31 (£45,103, inclusive of London Allowance).
If PhD not yet awarded: Initial appointment at Grade 6B (£39,148–£41,833 per annum), with payment at Grade 7 backdated to the date of final PhD submission.
Funding duration: 3 years.
Visa eligibility: This role meets Skilled Worker Visa or Global Talent Visa requirements under UK Visas and Immigration regulations. International applicants requiring a visa are welcome.

About You
The successful candidate will:
Hold a PhD in a relevant area (e.g., psychiatric epidemiology, developmental psychiatry, mental health).
Have a high-quality publication record.
Demonstrate excellent statistical, analytical, and communication skills.
