About the Role
The University of Sussex is seeking a Research Fellow in Digitalization and Green Healthcare to join an MRC-funded transdisciplinary research hub focused on decarbonizing the commissioning and delivery of healthcare. This position specifically contributes to Sub-theme 4: Digital and Remote Care Pathways.
The project is led by Professor Mahmood Bhutta at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), and the successful candidate will join a sub-theme team headed by Professor Dimitra Petrakaki at the University of Sussex Business School.
Your research will explore sustainable innovations in digital and remote healthcare pathways, helping to identify, evaluate, and promote low-carbon healthcare solutions that balance technological advancement with environmental responsibility. This work will contribute to shaping evidence-based strategies for sustainable digital healthcare delivery at both national and international levels.
About You
You will have (or be near completion of) a PhD in a field relevant to digital healthcare, health informatics, sustainability, or healthcare management, or possess equivalent experience conducting research in these areas.
You will bring:
Proven research experience in digital and remote healthcare systems, sustainability, or healthcare innovation.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the capacity to manage and prioritise your workload effectively.
Experience or interest in policy influence, advocacy, or real-world application of research findings to support change within healthcare systems.
