We welcome applications for part-time or flexible working arrangements, where operationally possible.

Post 110167 – Research Fellow (Fixed-Term, 2 Years)

Contract End Date: 31st December 2027
This role involves developing power electronic systems for microgrid applications, including:
Designing, assembling, and testing DC-DC converters, inverters, and test systems
Supporting the implementation of test systems for microgrid research
Conducting reliability testing of power semiconductor devices

Post 110165 – Research Fellow/Assistant Professor (Research Focused) (Fixed-Term, 3 Years)

Contract End Date: 31st March 2029
This role is part of the REWIRE IKC project, focusing on power semiconductor reliability. Responsibilities include:
Developing power electronic systems for reliability testing
Comparative testing to establish a commercial power semiconductor reliability database
Designing test rigs and circuits to support research in power electronics

In both roles, you will conduct comprehensive reliability tests, including:
Short-circuit testing
Current & voltage stressing
Power & temperature cycling

Additionally, you will contribute to key system component design, such as:
Gate drivers, sensor circuits, and protection systems
Advanced controllers (FPGA, LabVIEW, D-SPACE)

You will work closely with a team of engineers and researchers to develop innovative solutions in power electronics for microgrid applications.

About You
