About the Role
As a Registered Nurse with TLC Care, you will be responsible for delivering the highest standards of nursing, clinical, and personal care to our residents. You will ensure that their physical, emotional, and social needs are met, while providing strong leadership and guidance to the care team.
You’ll play an active role in assessing, developing, and evaluating personalized care plans, working closely with residents, families, GPs, and other health professionals.
This is a bank (casual) role, offering flexibility and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Care Planning
Carry out assessments and create individualised care plans in line with NMC guidelines and company policy.
Monitor residents’ health and arrange GP or professional visits when required.
Administer prescribed medication safely and accurately.
Maintain clear and up-to-date records.
Act as the named nurse for designated residents.
Specialist Areas of Care
Tissue Viability: Prevent, monitor, and manage pressure sores with appropriate care plans.
Nutrition & Hydration: Complete monthly MUST assessments; monitor fluid/food intake and support residents with dietary needs (including PEG feeding).
Continence: Conduct continence assessments and manage catheter care.
Infection Control: Ensure safe infection prevention practices are consistently followed.
Resident Wellbeing
Promote independence, dignity, and respect at all times.
Support residents with mobility, hygiene, and personal preferences.
Ensure care staff engage with residents in a compassionate, respectful manner.
Leadership & Communication
Lead shifts, providing direction and support to care staff.
Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and the wider care team.
Mentor student nurses and carers, supporting their development.
Participate in staff, resident, and relative meetings.
Health & Safety
Adhere to the home’s Health & Safety policies, emergency, and fire procedures.
Promote safe working practices across the team.
Skills & Requirements
Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN.
Genuine passion for caring for older people.
Strong leadership, delegation, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Satisfactory DBS and DBS Adult First checks.
