About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for a qualified Clinical Psychologist to contribute to innovative healthcare education within a leading paediatric hospital. Working as part of the Clinical Simulation Centre, you will play a central role in designing and delivering simulation-based learning that enhances staff capability, patient safety, and service quality.
The position sits within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment where psychological expertise is applied beyond traditional clinical settings—helping healthcare professionals develop critical non-technical skills such as communication, teamwork, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and evaluate simulation-based training programmes aligned with workforce development goals
Apply psychological theory and therapeutic approaches to enhance simulation learning
Lead and support training focused on human factors and team dynamics
Collaborate with clinicians, educators, and external partners to identify learning needs
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and educational research
Support mentoring, coaching, and career development activities within simulation education
Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and contribute to innovation in practice

Essential Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree in Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society
Doctoral-level training in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent)
Evidence of ongoing professional development
Experience
- Experience delivering education or training within healthcare settings
Familiarity with simulation-based learning approaches
Knowledge of educational principles and quality improvement processes
Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Capability to design and evaluate training programmes
Ability to integrate psychological methods into multidisciplinary learning
Effective organisational and prioritisation skills
Desirable Criteria
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
Experience in curriculum development or published research
Presentation experience at professional or academic events
