Role Overview
The University of Reading is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Property Administrator to join our Property Team. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support for the University’s investment property portfolio, which includes commercial land and various assets. You will ensure property records and systems are accurate, maintain lease and property documents, assist with business rates and financial matters, and support the surveying team in driving the success of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update property records, lease documents, and CAFM systems.
Assist with business rates, financial administration, and other property-related tasks.
Support the surveying and property management team in daily operations and portfolio administration.
Communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including tenants and internal teams.
Assist with documentation, filing, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Contribute to process improvements and the efficient management of the investment portfolio.
About the Property Team
The Property Team manages the University’s multi-million-pound investment property portfolio, generating ethical and sustainable income to support core research and academic functions. The team’s responsibilities include:
Commercial land development and asset management.
Management of approximately 250 properties across all asset classes.
Providing RICS-accredited property expertise to University leadership and academic schools.
Supporting property valuation, disposals, acquisitions, business rates, and insurance matters.
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven administrative and organizational skills, ideally in a commercial or residential property environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to priorities multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in commercial property administration, including maintaining tenancy records and CAFM systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
Strong IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Numerate and confident with financial systems.
Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Desirable:
Experience supporting property investment or commercial portfolios.
Knowledge of property legislation and regulations.
