  • Engaging with external organisations to build strong links between medical education and GP practice; promoting careers in general practice among students; fostering placement opportunities and practice‑based teaching.
  • At the professorial level: delivering nationally/internationally significant contributions to research, education and discipline leadership; fulfilling formal School‑level leadership roles and strategic planning duties.

  • Experience and enthusiasm for teaching undergraduates and postgraduates, supervising research, and contributing to curriculum and educational strategy.
  • Commitment to clinical practice as a GP (able to hold a 0.2 FTE clinical commitment with an appropriate honorary contract).
  • Leadership and management skills to contribute to the strategic development of the School, including external collaboration with health services, GP practices, and relevant stakeholders.
  • A vision to build and sustain high‑quality academic output, shape future GPs, and support student career development in general practice.
