About the Role
The Faculty of Law is seeking to appoint a Postgraduate Student Administration Officer to support a range of key administrative functions for its postgraduate taught and research program. This is a newly restructured role, and as such, the job description may evolve during the early stages of the appointment.
The successful candidate will be a core member of the postgraduate administration team, working under the supervision of the Graduate Studies Administrator for the Centre for Criminology and collaborating closely with the BCL/M Jur Course Administrator and Graduate Studies Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Graduate Admissions – BCL/MJur Programmes

Act as the main point of contact for academic assessors and prospective applicants.

Provide guidance on the admissions process and direct queries to appropriate university services.

Collate and manage data related to scholarship and funding eligibility.

Liaise with the Student Funding Officer to process scholarship nominations.
Recognized Students Administration

Oversee administrative processes for Recognized Students, including visa management during their stay.

Ensure accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
Support for PGR Admissions

Assist the Graduate Studies Officer with processing postgraduate research applications.

Maintain detailed records of applications, offers, and funding information.

Ensure all activities comply with university regulations and policies.
On-Course Support

During periods with reduced admissions activity, provide support for current postgraduate students.

Assist with the Preparation for Learning and Teaching at Oxford (PLTO) program, working alongside the Associate Dean for Undergraduates.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience

Strong administrative and organizational skills, ideally gained within higher education or a similar setting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

High level of discretion, especially when handling confidential or sensitive information.

Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
Desirable

Previous experience working in academic administration.
