GE Aerospace is seeking an On Wing Support (OWS) Site LEAN Leader to drive transformation through the implementation of FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s lean operating model. The role involves partnering with site teams, the OWS Global Leadership team, and other stakeholders to ensure full adoption of FLIGHT DECK across site operations. The LEAN Leader will lead changes in approach and mindset to ensure Lean principles are effectively applied, supporting strategic and operational business plans. Key responsibilities include developing lean proficiency across the site, improving operating processes and standard work, and collaborating with stakeholders beyond the site to maximize impact.
Job Description
On Wing Support operates 24/7/365 across multiple global time zones. While local time zones are respected, leaders must be flexible to accommodate and support global teams as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, facilitate, educate, and consult with the OWS Site team to drive understanding and application of FLIGHT DECK.
Collaborate with FLIGHT DECK Leader peers across OWS and GE Aerospace to share learning, identify opportunities, and drive lean culture activation.
Develop, lead, and manage a multi-year Site FLIGHT DECK Transformation Roadmap; contribute to OWS global transformation objectives.
Support site operating goals by facilitating KPI-based performance management.
Act as a kaizen champion, facilitating events to drive continuous improvement.
Coach, mentor, and develop organizational competencies to drive effective KPIs, action plans, and problem solving to ensure sustained results.
Coach all aspects of FLIGHT DECK to ensure standard and impactful application.
Mentor model cell implementations and work with sites to scale improvements via robust transformation plans.
Partner with ATMRO FLIGHT DECK operations teams and leaders to deploy best-practice capabilities across the network.
Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the FLIGHT DECK operating system.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
Experience applying a lean operating system, including Daily Management, KPI Performance Management, Problem Solving, Action Planning, and Continuous Improvement in an industrial environment.
Flexibility to collaborate across global teams spanning 14 hours in time zone differences; international travel expected up to 4 weeks per year.
Desired Characteristics
Operations management and/or lean practitioner experience in aircraft engine maintenance or similar industrial services.
