Job Overview
The On Wing Support Site LEAN Leader handles driving operational changes. They use the FLIGHT DECK lean operating model at GE Aerospace. This person works tight with site teams. They also connect with the Global Leadership team and other stakeholders. The goal stays full rollout of FLIGHT DECK principles. Plus, they build a mindset around Lean practices that everyone buys into.
Main focus hits developing lean skills all over the site. It improves operating processes and standard work too. Collaboration happens with folks outside the site. That way, impact grows as big as possible.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and facilitate FLIGHT DECK principles in the On Wing Support site team. Educate people on them. Advocate for them hard.
Work with other FLIGHT DECK Leaders across OWS and GE Aerospace. Share what you learn. Spot chances to improve. Push the lean culture forward.
Build and handle a multi-year Site FLIGHT DECK Transformation Roadmap. Tie it into global OWS goals.
Help site operating targets by coaching on KPI-based performance management.
Push kaizen initiatives. Run events that lead to real operational gains.
Mentor folks on building skills in KPI management. Cover action planning and problem-solving. Make sure results stick around long term.
Guide how FLIGHT DECK components get used in standard ways. Make them hit hard.
Lead model cell setups. Help scale things up with solid transformation plans.
Team up with the ATMRO FLIGHT DECK operations crew and leaders. Roll out best practices across the whole network.
Add to building and rolling out the full FLIGHT DECK operating system.
Qualifications and Requirements
Hold a Bachelors degree from an accredited school. Or have equivalent experience that counts.
Show proven time using a lean operating system. That includes Daily Management. KPI Performance Management fits in. Problem Solving too. Action Planning and Continuous Improvement round it out. All in an industrial setup.
Be ready to work globally across time zones. Some differ by up to 14 hours. Travel internationally as needed. Up to 4 weeks a year.
Desired Characteristics
Have operations management or lean practitioner background. Best if in aircraft engine maintenance. Or something like that in industrial services.
Bring strong problem-solving abilities. Handle complex issues well.
Lead and run kaizen events effectively.
Stay highly collaborative. Manage conflicts and debates in places full of change.
Think critically. Influence and line up diverse stakeholders.
Communicate strong. Engage at every level in the organization.
