About the Role

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Associate to join the dedicated and supportive team on Phoenix Ward.

This role is ideal for a compassionate, motivated Nursing Associate who is keen to develop professionally while delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You will work across home and community clinic settings, supporting patients with complex needs—particularly those recovering following a stroke—while contributing meaningfully to multidisciplinary care.

As a Nursing Associate, you will practise in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code, bringing a broad understanding of care across the lifespan and supporting individuals to maintain independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

What You Will Be Doing

Clinical Care & Patient Support

  • Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care as delegated by a Registered Nurse or other registered health professional
  • Provide holistic, patient-centred care tailored to individual needs
  • Support patients with complex care needs, including post-stroke rehabilitation
  • Promote self-management and wellbeing using a positive, risk-based approach

Teamwork & Professional Practice

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team across community and clinic settings
  • Carry out agreed care interventions independently, within your scope of practice
  • Support learning by demonstrating basic procedures to colleagues in training, where appropriate
  • Reflect on your own practice, identifying learning needs and seeking guidance when required

Essential Criteria

Qualifications & Registration

  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • Nursing Associate Foundation Degree
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grades 9–4 / A*–C)

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience within the relevant clinical specialty
