Role Overview
This is a hands-on clinical role within a Community Mental Health Team, supporting adults living with severe and enduring mental health conditions.
As a Nursing Associate or Assistant Practitioner, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care across specialist clinics, including Depot, Clozapine, and Wellbeing services. You’ll work with a supportive multidisciplinary team while also taking responsibility for defined clinical tasks within your scope of practice.
This role suits someone who is practical, organised, and comfortable working in a busy clinical environment, while still maintaining a compassionate and patient-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Patient Support
- Assist in running Depot, Clozapine, and Wellbeing clinics
Carry out venepuncture and physical health monitoring
Support medication processes, including ordering and preparation
Monitor patients’ mental and physical health, escalating concerns appropriately
Provide practical advice to support overall wellbeing
Deliver care in line with professional standards and guidelines
Multidisciplinary Team Working
- Work closely with Registered Nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
Participate in handovers, team discussions, and care planning
Support coordinated discharge planning and continuity of care
Organisation, Safety & Governance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Follow policies on medicines management, infection control, and confidentiality
Support clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement work
Contribute to a safe and well-organised clinical environment
Follow safeguarding responsibilities in line with national guidance
Professional Development
- Engage in supervision, training, and continuous learning
Work within the standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council
Support students and less experienced colleagues where appropriate
Maintain awareness of professional boundaries and scope of practice
Team Culture & Environment
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team atmosphere
Take part in wellbeing initiatives and team engagement activities (optional)

What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- Foundation Degree or Level 5 qualification in healthcare
Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
Demonstrated competency in core clinical skills
Experience
- Experience working in a healthcare or mental health setting
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of the link between physical and mental health
Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and duty of care
Ability to deliver person-centred care
Understanding of the impact of mental illness on individuals and families
Additional Requirements
- This role requires a DBS check
