About the Role

Providence Medical Group–Walla Walla is seeking a full-time Nocturnist to join a highly collaborative, well-established Hospitalist team deeply integrated with Providence St. Mary Medical Center. This opportunity is ideal for a physician who enjoys caring for acutely ill patients, thrives in a supportive interdisciplinary environment, and values predictable scheduling.

You’ll work alongside dedicated nurses, therapists, support staff, and fellow physicians in a setting known for its strong teamwork and patient-centered culture. Because the position involves managing an open ICU, candidates must be confident caring for critically ill and ventilated patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient nocturnist care with no daytime call requirements
• Manage ICU and vented patients in an open ICU environment
• Collaborate closely with a seasoned team of hospitalists, clinicians, and support staff
• Participate in a well-established Hospitalist program active since 2007
• Coordinate with Tele-Critical Care consultants when needed

Schedule & Work Structure

• 168 annual shifts
• Standard schedule: 14 nights on / 14 nights off
• Flexibility available for adjusted scheduling preferences
• Consistent, predictable hours to support a healthy work–life balance

Qualifications

• Internal Medicine training required
• ICU and ventilator management experience within the past two years
• Comfort working in a community hospital setting
• Recent graduates with strong ICU exposure during residency are encouraged to apply

Compensation & Benefits

Annual compensation:

• $295,021 – $377,352, depending on experience and incentives

This total may include:

• Productivity or quality-based bonuses
• Additional shift incentives
• Call pay (when applicable)
