What you’ll be doing

As a qualified Mental Health Nurse (RMN), you’ll be providing high-quality care to people with mental health conditions. You’ll also be supporting your colleagues and encouraging positive teamwork.

Your day will be busy, with plenty of variety to keep you motivated and engaged. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering effective and compassionate nursing care to service users
  • Taking responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Mentoring and supporting your team members
  • Observing, recording, and reporting on changes in service users’ conditions, ensuring accurate records are maintained

Where you’ll be working

Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET.

Thornford Park is a 130-bed independent hospital providing medium and low-secure Forensic Mental Health Services. The facility also includes a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The service offers a seamless internal care pathway, empowering service users in their recovery and rehabilitation.

You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored assessments and treatment programs for males with mental illness and complex care needs, those with personality disorders, and males and females in the PICU service.
