About the Role
The University of Reading is seeking enthusiastic and research-active Lecturers in Psychology to join the School of Psychology & Clinical Language Sciences. This role combines teaching, research, and student supervision across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
We welcome applicants who will complement and enhance our areas of research and teaching strength, particularly in:
- Health Psychology
- Developmental Psychopathology
- Environmental Psychology & Sustainability
- Forensic or Criminal Psychology
Interdisciplinary and multimodal research, including TMS and MRI methods, via the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN) and clinical facilities such as the Anxiety and Depression in Young People (AnDY) Research Clinic

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, seminars, and project supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop and lead research projects aligned with the School’s strategic priorities.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations and build research networks nationally and internationally.
- Apply for and manage external research funding.
- Support the School’s commitment to an inclusive, student-focused learning environment.
- Uphold professionalism in all interactions with colleagues, students, and external partners.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking individuals who have:
- A PhD in Psychology or closely related discipline.
- Specialist expertise in one of the School’s priority areas.
- A strong publication record appropriate to career stage.
- Evidence of potential to secure external research funding.
- Experience in university-level teaching and student supervision.
- A commitment to supporting a high-quality student experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.
