About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the UCL Centre for Holocaust Education as a Lecturer (Teaching). The Centre is internationally respected for its work in advancing Holocaust education through research-led teacher development programmes.
In this role, you will contribute to delivering professional development programmes for teachers across England, helping to ensure that students develop a meaningful and informed understanding of the Holocaust.
You will also play a key role in shaping new educational initiatives and supporting the Centre’s expanding portfolio of training, research, and outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Professional Development
- Deliver high-quality training programmes for teachers (ITE and CPD)
Support postgraduate teaching, including Master’s level programmes
Contribute to the development of innovative teaching materials
Curriculum & Programme Development
- Help design and enhance Holocaust education initiatives
Contribute to national programmes supporting schools and educators
Work with networks such as Beacon Schools to improve teaching practice
Academic Contribution
- Engage with research-informed teaching approaches
Support the Centre’s mission to improve Holocaust education nationally
Collaborate with colleagues across education and related disciplines
About You
Essential Requirements
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent qualification
Experience teaching in secondary school settings
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of Holocaust education
Ability to deliver engaging and impactful training to educators
Key Skills & Attributes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with educators and academic teams
Commitment to inclusive, reflective, and high-quality education
Strong organisational and planning abilities
