About Us

The UCL Energy Institute, part of the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources, is a leading international centre for teaching and research in energy and the built environment. Our postgraduate programmes address pressing global challenges in energy, buildings, and data.

About the Role

We are seeking a Lecturer (Teaching) to contribute to two MSc programmes:

Smart Energy and the Built Environment (SEBE)

Energy Systems and Data Analytics (ESDA)

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the Data Analytics in the Smart Built Environment (SEBE, optional) and Energy Data Analytics in the Built Environment (ESDA, core) modules.

This involves preparing course materials and Moodle sites, delivering lectures, setting and marking coursework, and supporting students.

If a job share, each lecturer will take responsibility for one module.

Acting as Deputy Programme Lead for SEBE, supporting the Course Director with programme management, student recruitment, induction, exam boards, and staff coordination.

Supervising MSc dissertations, marking coursework, and contributing occasional lectures across both programmes.

The post will start 1 November 2025 and is funded for 9 months initially. Additional funding may be available to extend the role.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

A PhD in a quantitative field relevant to energy demand and the built environment, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience in research or teaching that uses statistical methods.

Proven teaching experience in higher education, with strong organizational and communication skills.
