About the Role
The School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Surrey is seeking a full-time Lecturer in Robotics to join its vibrant and expanding team. This position is part of a strategic investment in six new academic roles across key areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, and Satellite Communications.
This post will be based within the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP), an internationally recognised research center, and will strengthen its activities in robotics.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct high-quality, internationally recognized research in robotics.
Develop and deliver engaging teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the new BSc Computer Science and AI and MSc programmes in AI, Computer Vision, Robotics, Machine Learning, and Data Science.
Secure external research funding and contribute to the development of research projects.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Collaborate with colleagues within CVSSP and the Institute for People-Centred AI (PAI) to drive forward interdisciplinary research.
About You

Related AI fields that can advance robotics research
Essential Requirements:
A PhD (or equivalent) in Robotics, Computer Science, AI, or a closely related discipline
Evidence of high-quality research publications
Potential or demonstrated ability to attract external research funding
Experience in teaching or willingness to develop teaching skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
