About the Role

The School of the Built Environment at the University of Reading is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer to strengthen our teaching provision in Building Services, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics.

The successful candidate will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, particularly on our MEng/BEng Architectural Engineering programmes. This role will support and enhance our existing expertise in energy, sustainability, and engineering systems within the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver and develop teaching content in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building services engineering

Teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, particularly MEng/BEng Architectural Engineering

Contribute to curriculum development and the enhancement of student learning experiences

Engage with interdisciplinary approaches to education and professional practice within the built environment

About You

You will have:

A PhD in an engineering-related discipline (or a relevant postgraduate qualification with substantial industry experience)

Expertise in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, and building services within a built environment context

Experience or strong potential in delivering teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level

A passion for education and the ability to contribute to the School’s interdisciplinary and real-world focused teaching environment
