About the Role
UCL is seeking a dynamic and innovative Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Sustainable Construction. This permanent, full-time position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of sustainable construction through teaching, research, and leadership within the BSSC.
As a Lecturer, you will:
- Lead Research:Â Conduct cutting-edge research in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applied to sustainable construction, producing high-quality publications and becoming a leading voice in the field.
- Inspire Teaching:Â Develop, plan, and deliver engaging teaching across all levels, inspiring and supporting students in AI for sustainable construction. Collaborate with teaching teams on integrating AI considerations into assessments.
- Drive Departmental Strategy:Â Serve as the designated AI Lead for the department, a new and enabling role central to advancing the school’s vision and mission in this critical area.
- Contribute to Administration: Participate actively in the administration of The School’s programmes of study and other departmental activities.
About You
The successful candidate will be an exceptional academic with a passion for the intersection of AI, Machine Learning, and sustainable construction.
Essential Requirements:
- A PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- Demonstrable experience in teaching support and programme administration.
- A strong track record of conducting and publishing high-quality original research in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, specifically applied to construction or the built environment, evidenced by publications, working papers, or other research outputs.
Skills & Attributes:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively and harmoniously within a diverse academic environment, respecting individuals from all cultures and backgrounds.
A proactive and innovative approach to integrating AI into curriculum and research within the built environment.
