About the Role
Dowty, part of GE Aerospace, is seeking a Lean Leader to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement using GE Aerospace’s proprietary Flight Deck lean operating model.
In this role, you’ll apply Lean principles to optimize processes, enhance safety, improve quality, ensure on-time delivery, and reduce costs (SQDC). You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable improvements, promote problem-solving, and support the execution of key business strategies.
What is the Flight Deck?
The Flight Deck is GE Aerospace’s unique lean operating system designed to deliver excellence in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). It incorporates proven lean practices such as Kaizen, Kata, Hoshin Kanri, and Standard Work, customized for GE Aerospace and Dowty’s operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the deployment of Flight Deck methodologies to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, with Safety as the top priority.
Coach and embed Lean principles and behaviors across teams to achieve cultural and operational transformation.
Facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and training sessions to build Lean capability throughout the organization.
Act as a change champion, promoting engagement and accountability at all levels.
Analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvements.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven problem-solving.
Ensure long-term success of initiatives through standard work, clear documentation, and regular audits.
Challenge existing practices and inspire innovation within the Flight Deck framework.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Proven experience implementing Lean or Continuous Improvement within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of Lean principles, tools, and techniques.
Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Experience leading projects and change management initiatives.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Strong technical and presentation skills.

Additional Information
Security Clearance: Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required. If clearance cannot be obtained, employment may not proceed.
