Job Description and Responsibilities

As a team member in this role, you will collaborate with key members of the multi-disciplinary team and patients related to your specialty.

You will be responsible for the full spectrum of patient care, including assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care, with supervision from senior staff. In addition, you will assist the Charge Nurse/Senior Sister in monitoring patient safety and care quality.

In the absence of the Junior Sister or Charge Nurse, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the ward.

– Registered Nurse (First Level) with active registration
– Evidence of recent professional development and ongoing learning
– Post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting

– Awareness of current nursing practices and issues
– Ability to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
– Commitment to achieving excellent patient and staff experiences

Desirable Criteria

– Post-qualification in a relevant specialty
– A recognized teaching or mentorship qualification, or actively working towards one
