JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software (firmware), platforms, and systems that control and run on devices that must be tailored to the needs of the hardware on which they run. Typically necessitates a thorough understanding of the physical equipment being controlled, the realtime functions it is expected to execute, and the capacity to design, develop, implement, and test the logic and software required to achieve the realtime capability. Typically suited to products and services across several P&Ls. Responsible for departmental operations planning and implementation, or focusses on professional activities in a technical subject. Functions with some liberty while adhering to specified policies or reviewing end products.
The role allows for the adjustment of work-related procedures and practices as long as the end results meet acceptable requirements.

Roles and responsibilities
Architects, designs, programs, and/or develops a small module, a large component, a feature, a group of features, an entire feature area, or an embedded software product. Some areas of knowledge include, but are not limited to, networks, operating systems, cybersecurity, databases, and applications. It is possible that you will be in charge of the entire production process.

This includes direct people management responsibilities such as staffing and performance development. Uses in-depth knowledge of a technical area, as well as analytical thinking and technical experience, to carry out policy/strategies.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own field integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the elements that distinguish them in the market.
Uses some judgement and has the capacity to provide alternative solutions to more complex manufacturing processes with technological variation and/or interdependent production cycles. Utilises technical expertise and analytical thinking. To make decisions, he consults many internal and limited external sources outside of his own team.
Serves as a resource for coworkers who have less experience. May manage minor projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains facts and develops skills for bringing team members to consensus on field-related topics. Communicates performance expectations and may address difficult problems.
Required Qualifications
This position demands extensive experience in engineering/technology and embedded software development. The knowledge level is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an authorised university or college.
