Role:
Senior Support Worker for persons with mild to moderate learning difficulties as part of the Halow initiative.
Location:
Our services are mostly based in Guildford and Cranleigh, however you may also be supporting activities and venues throughout Surrey. Our support staff should have a complete driver’s license and access to a car, and they can claim mileage for work-related travel.
Hours:
Working full-time for 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week, with an average of 2 sleep-ins. This position demands the ability to work on a rotational rota schedule Monday through Sunday spanning shift patterns that include early shifts, day shifts, late hours, sleep-ins, and some weekends.
Salary:
Starting salary is £26,325 per year, with a sleep-in allowance of £50 per night.
Annual leave:
30 days pro rata, including bank holidays.
Training:
Fully paid training is provided, including the industry-recognized Care Certificate, and there are chances for further development, such as Positive Behaviour Support and studying for validated National Vocational Qualifications.
Our Senior Support Workers play a crucial role in promoting independence among seniors aged 18+ through our renowned Supported Living program.
You’ll be liable for:
- -Providing high-quality support to our young people and assisting them in planning their day-to-day lives while working towards their goals via;
- -Providing encouragement and support for jobs at home, such as cooking, with their physical well-being, and assisting them in planning and accessing their social life, activities, and engagements in the local community and beyond.
- -Assisting the House Managers in managing the day-to-day operations of the supported living homes by:
- – Identifying meaningful possibilities for supported individuals.
- -Helping with training.
- -Providing advice to support workers,
- -Communicate with stakeholders and partners.
- – maintaining clear and up-to-date records.
Job Requirements:
- -Previous experience in care work is needed.
- -Resilience and adaptability are important because this function entails working alone with an individual or a small group, as well as working as part of the larger Care team.
- -Depending on who you’re assisting, you may need to provide some personal care and administer medication.
- -Age 18 and above.
- -Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- -Willing to undergo a DBS check. The first cost of the DBS application will be covered by Halow.
