What is the definition of a youth worker?

As youth workers, we nurture and encourage the young people we deal with so that they may learn to make educated decisions. We teach empowerment and equality, allowing them to have a voice, create meaningful connections, and reach their full potential.

As a Youth Worker, you will assist the Leader in Charge with the operation and running of the session, involving young people in the community, providing support, advice, and guidance, and addressing any safeguarding concerns as a team.

Join us in assisting young people as they face societal and personal obstacles as they transition from infancy to adulthood.

Training and professional development:

Successful applicants will receive comprehensive introduction and training to support all parts of their roles, as well as ongoing assistance from their manager and colleagues.

Starting as a youth worker can lead to prospects in keywork and social work, if the successful applicant seeks full-time employment.

About the sessions:

We provide classes for children ages 8 to 19 (or up to 25 for children with special needs).

Our Juniors programs are open-mixed groups where young people may mingle and learn life skills via enjoyable activities.
Girls Groups are groups dedicated to providing a secure area for young women to receive support, counsel, and enhance their life skills via engaging activities.
Detached/Outreach sessions take place on the street; we meet with young people where they are, ensure their voices are heard, provide them with activities, and direct them to local youth groups and services.

We are seeking individuals that have:

Interpersonal skills include the ability to be sensitive to the needs of young people and relate to them on a meaningful level.
Capability to plan and deliver activities with and for young people.
Capability to plan and implement specialised projects to engage young people.
