Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Senior Social Worker, Adult Community Team.
John is at home and in his local community, receiving the right help at the right time and in the right location. He has a fulfilling life and is content at home thanks to the assistance provided.
After recently completing a transition within Adult Social Care in Bracknell, we are now able to offer a number of positions in our new structure.
We have openings for experienced and dedicated Senior Social Workers in our Adult Community Team.
In our Adult Social Care teams, we use a strength-based approach to help our most vulnerable residents get their lives back on track, putting the person first in everything we do.
We place a high emphasis on integrated collaboration with our community partners to provide holistic and seamless support when individuals need it.
We are proud of the support and services we offer to the community.
Because we are Bracknell Forest.
What is it like to work in our team?
Our adult social care service is made up of highly professional and helpful multidisciplinary teams. We have a “can do” and “no wrong door” philosophy. Our social care teams collaborate and go above and beyond to ensure that our residents receive the care they require.
We collaborate closely with health and other partners to ensure that individuals are not sent to the hospital unless absolutely necessary, and that if they are admitted, they can return home as promptly and safely as possible.
We have a variety of intermediate care and discharge assessment programmes that focus on keeping people in their own homes.
We have regular multidisciplinary forums, which allows our residents to easily access health and social care professionals that communicate with one another in order to give holistic support when needed.
We understand that working in Adult Social Care can be stressful, so we provide our employees with adequate support. You will have regular supervision and access to training. We place a major emphasis on helping our employees learn, grow, and develop in order to reach their full potential. We listen to our social care professionals about the best method to deliver our services and welcome criticism and recommendations on how we can work together better.
You will receive support to perform the following duties, responsibilities, and training.
- As a Senior Social Worker, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to connect people and their families to their community/social network, allowing them to live in their own communities and lessen their reliance on long-term care.
- You will assist in delivering and sustaining high performance standards, ensuring ongoing development, and assisting individuals in carrying out their tasks to the best of their abilities within the constraints of available resources.
- You will be responsible for your own learning, including mandated and suggested training, as well as the training of students and identified personnel.
- You will actively participate in your own supervision and appraisal, as well as that of assigned staff, in accordance with the departmental supervision policy and the council’s appraisal policy.
- As needed, you will take on departmental or team leadership roles within a specific area of responsibility.
You will receive the following benefits:
- An inclusive environment.
- Flexible working arrangements, including a flexi-time policy.
- Generous yearly leave entitlement.
- Regular possibilities for growth through internal and external training sessions.
- A fantastic office site near transport links and the redeveloped town centre.
- Internal sports and social club opportunities.
- Memberships to the leisure centre and gym are discounted.
- Supermarket discounts.
- An interest-free loan for a rail season ticket.
What we are looking for
You will be an experienced, registered social worker with extensive post-qualification experience. You must be devoted to assisting staff dealing with challenging case loads, maintaining high standards of practice, and allowing people to interact with their community/social network while also protecting them from danger.
