Head of Department.

£77,852 – £84,129 annually (pro rata)

Full-time, permanent contract.

 

About the Role

We’re searching for a Head of Department (HE) who can give strategic planning and subject area expertise to help the schools achieve their strategic goals. You should be a proven leader and communicator who is passionate about innovative pedagogy, a positive student experience, and quality improvement. With our degree courses ranging from Environmental Science to Veterinary Nursing, you will require broad land-based subject monitoring as you look for ways to improve our academic offerings. In collaboration with the other Heads of Department and the School Executive Team, and reporting to the Executive Dean of the School, you will seek ways to improve the student experience, such as evaluating and implementing innovative pedagogical techniques, ensuring a variety of student opportunities, and maximising our students’ employability or suitability for future study.

You should have a doctorate or a relevant professional certification and be a Senior Fellow of a Higher Education Academy (or be on your way to becoming one). You should have previous experience working in a similar job and managing change, as well as a solid reputation in a land-based field of research or practice.
