JOB SUMMARY
The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is a national, evidence-based program. The programme’s goal is to promote prenatal health, child health and development, and parents’ economic self-sufficiency in disadvantaged young families.This function is in charge of providing the FNP intensive, preventive home visiting programme to vulnerable, hard-to-reach young women who are expecting their first child. Post holders must have high-level generalist and specialist abilities in order to function within the structured programme’s clinical approaches. To fulfil the programme’s objectives, family nurses will be expected to form therapeutic relationships with clients and work intensely in complex family circumstances.This is a difficult specialist career that necessitates extensive professional training and experience, as well as the ability to work collaboratively.
Main responsibilities of the job
1. Recruit and engage eligible, hard-to-reach pregnant young women in the FNP project.2. To use programme materials and methods in clients’ homes to achieve the following goals: improve pregnancy outcomes; improve children’s health and development by enabling parents to provide more sensitive and competent care; and improve parental life-course by assisting parents in planning future pregnancies, completing their education, and finding employment.
3. To work therapeutically with a diverse range of family members to encourage behaviour change and positive outcomes for children and families.
4. To take on a lead professional role when children and young people with special needs require a comprehensive package of care from many practitioners/services.
5. Through ongoing monitoring and participation in reflective supervision, to guarantee that expertise in clinical procedures is acquired and maintained, that the service provided is of high quality, and that the programme is executed faithfully. 6. Collaborate with local statutory and mainstream services to ensure that families gain confidence in accessing a variety of other universal health and support services and are prepared to transition from the programme when their child becomes two years old.

Qualifications, Skill, and Experience
Essential criteria
- At least two years’ experience working with families in impoverished communities.
- Understand the distinction between advice-giving and motivational tactics.
- At least two years of experience in midwifery, child health, and clinical supervision.
- Has some familiarity of FNP’s research base. Willingness to conduct personal research to gain expertise of a variety of therapeutic areas National and local safeguarding policies.
- Work with children and families.

- Masters-level education
- Working with younger individuals.
