Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking for a band 5 staff nurse for our busy plastic surgery department.

Our plastic surgery program is a nurse-led day facility with a high volume of elective and emergency trauma patients. We see roughly 50 patients every day for pre and post-operative care in the day case theatre, as well as a wide range of dressing visits. These are particularly useful for trauma, breast, hand, skin cancer, and head and neck wounds. We also replenish trauma lists and treat patients immediately from the ED after referral.

The specialism is diverse and intriguing, and despite its autonomy as a nurse-led practice, it receives full assistance from medical staff when reviewing patients.

You must display high levels of care and expertise within the speciality. We are searching for a self-motivated individual with surgical wound care experience, an understanding of out-patients, and a willingness to learn.

In exchange, we may provide an opportunity to study and improve abilities in a diverse and exciting speciality. You would be well supported by a well-established team.

We have a full-time, one-year secondment/fixed-term contract position available.

The day unit is operational Monday through Friday from 7:15 to 19:00.

To provide a high standard of safe, personalised, holistic, and evidence-based patient-centered treatment in consultation with the patient, their relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.
